Arthritis At Home Episode 38: The Axial Spondyloarthritis International Federation (ASIF) and spondyloarthritis with Mr. Michael Mallinson

On this episode, Arthritis at Home speaks to Mr. Michael Mallinson, Past President of the Canadian Spondylitis Association. We explore further his role as one of the volunteer leaders and Past Secretary and Trustee of the Axial Spondyloarthritis International Federation (ASIF).

ASIF is an international membership organisation representing 45 patient organizations from 41 countries around the world specialising in the support of patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpA).

Arthritis Consumer Experts most recently became a proud member of the ASIF to advance its education and awareness work in axSpA – a still poorly understood rheumatic inflammatory disease that places a huge physical impact and psychological stress on patients which can disrupt every aspect of their life and its quality, including mobility, sleep, work and relationships. 

Arthritis at Home discusses with Mr. Mallinson ASIF programs and initiatives and learns more about axSpA, including its prevalence, difficulty of diagnosis and care and treatment.
