Arthritis At Home 120 – Arthritis community collaboration on the path towards Truth and Reconciliation

In this episode of Arthritis At Home, ACE President, Cheryl Koehn, and Programs Coordinator, Ellen Wang, talk about ACE’s four Truth and Reconciliation activities taking place in 2022. Co-led by Dr. Terri-Lynn Fox, Indigenous scholar and person living with rheumatoid arthritis, these activities include webinars on Indian Residential Schools and the path forward towards Truth and Reconciliation, Calls to Action #18 to 24, audit and edit of ACE’s web sites and the creation of a new web site resource for the arthritis community on Call to Action #22.

To join ACE on the path forward towards Truth and Reconciliation, please join us on May 13, 2022 at 9:00 am PDT for our webinar on “Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action 18 to 24 and the Arthritis Community.” This activity features a 40-minute talk where Dr. Fox will provide an overview of Truth and Reconciliation Report Calls to Action 18 to 24 (specific to health) and share insights on how the dichotomy and misconceptions specifically relating to Indigenous modes of health and healing were excluded, while Colonial practices were accepted in the provision of arthritis health care to Indigenous Peoples, followed by a 15-minute question and answer period.
