In this episode of Arthritis At Home, Ellen Wang, Programs Coordinator for Arthritis Consumer Experts, speaks to Dr. Atena Roshan Fekr, an assistant professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, University of Toronto and an affiliate scientist at the KITE Research Institute, University Health Network. Her team was recently awarded the Ignite Innovation Grant titled Buddy4Rehab: An automated tele-rehabilitation platform for patients with arthritis and musculoskeletal problems. Ellen and Dr. Roshan Fekr have an exciting conversation about this new technology that is able to provide feedback on exercises in between physiotherapy visits. Together, they also discuss about the “train” artificial intelligence and the benefits tele-rehabilitation has for both accessibility and adherence.
