Arthritis at Home 205 – Inflammation and activity-induced pain in knee osteoarthritis
In this episode of Arthritis at Home, Ellen Wang, ACE’s Programs Coordinator and Dr. Brent Wakefield, Post-Doctoral Associate at Western University School of Physical Therapy and recipient of the Arthritis Society training award, discuss his research project on activity-induced pain in knee osteoarthritis. They discuss the differences in pain response to exercises from person-to-person and new technology that allows researchers to better understand inflammation caused by the immune system at a cellular level. Dr. Wakefield shares challenges to aspects of the project, including behaviour change, and how to overcome them.
